Trinity Sports Camp - Trainer’s Corner

Periodically our Trainers will type up some of their thoughts about not only our training philosophy but the training community in general. These topics are usually inspired by great conversations with our clients, each other, or even our colleagues. If you are interested in learning more about any of the topics, contact the trainer who authored the content and they would love to discuss it more with you. One of the greatest benefits of our training system is the constant, open ended dialect they takes place between the staff. It is one of the many ways we dedicate and challenge ourselves to giving our clients the best possible training system.

“Train Like a Cheetah if you want to be a Cheetah”

The cheetah is the fastest land animal on Earth. It can run at a top speed of 70 mph, it can turn on a dime and change direction while chasing its prey, and has the strength to take down animals larger than itself. The cheetah is the definition of raw athletic power. So, when was the last time you saw a cheetah bench, squat or power clean? Has anyone ever tested a cheetah’s 1 rep squat max to formulate its lifting progression? True power training is far more elaborate than the standard lifts that have become so common and cliché among athlete circles. No matter if you are a cheetah or a human being, your muscular system is always going to adapt to the stimulus it receives. A cheetah had to go through a progression of stimulus in order to gain the ability to be fast and explosive, and that progression did not involve any power lifts. The same can be true of us. Trinity Sports can show you how to use just your body and the environment to build the ultimate power-training program that will blow away any traditional Olympic lifting routine.
